Pasta Frolla with Lemon Curd and Fresh Berries, Happy Birthday to me!!

23 Dec 2010, celebrated my last "30s" birthday with Hubby, and the 2 little ones.
Spent the morning at home alone to bake my own birthday "tart". Sounded pathetic but to me it's a joy to be able to make one for my self. :)

I ended up with a big tart plus two small individual tarts. The big one was not as pretty as the little ones as it was simply too big for me to fill up with the assorted fresh berries. Nonetheless, I still use that as my birthday tarts, with the 2 little ones used for taking the picture below and brought over to my mum house for my nephews, on my way to vivo city for my birthday dinner, Japanese shabu shabu :)

I followed the recipe from dailydelicious. It is Pasta Frolla with lemon curd and fresh berries. This is the 1st time i used wholemeal flour. Besides low G.I which is best for me, it also gave the tart crush a nice texture, like eating one oak cookies. I'll use it to try out on Hong Kong style egg tarts soon. However, I do not think the lemon curd as filling is the best for the fruit tart, since the berries are also sour. I'll try out using a nornal custard filling instead next time and see if it is better. Afterall, cooking and baking is about 3 Ts - Trying, Tasting and Tweaking, or a 4th T, Try again,  isn't it? :P

Hmmm, what should i make next year, for my 40th Birthday?? :)
